MORE xVCx PHOTOS

OK, haven`t posted nothing in a while, still lazy as fuck to write something worth wile for this blog (although I have some ideas that are still just in my head). So here are some more Vaseline Children related photos that I have found on the net.

OK, this one is a interesting one. I found it on http://madebyonlymine.blogspot.com/ It`s a fashion blog of young designer Sabrina from Slovenia. The photo is taken in Kino, Dravograd which was one of the best places for DIY hc/punk gigs, rehearsals and similar gatherings and hanging outs. Now the place is just standing empty which is such a waste and the proof that the city government of Dravograd still don`t use this space for anything. Fuck them. Anyway, I`m not sure if Sabrina ever was on any Vaseline Children gig in Kino/Dravograd but some kids from the crew she hangs out with, definitely were coming on gigs in Kino/Dravograd. Thanks to Sabrina again for letting me use her photo and I wish her all the best with her fashion design work. 

This one is also interesting. I took it from myspace profile: http://www.myspace.com/mihaslovenia/photos/albums/my-photos/741275 from young dude Miha from Slovenia. On photo is his younger brother all dressed up in Balkan DIY hc/punk outfit :). So, there is: Pavilionul 32 hat from Romania, AK 47 and Razlog Za tapes (both from Croatia) and Vaseline Children t-shirt (the first one that we printed). 

This one I took from Ha - Ko Bastards myspace profile (http://www.myspace.com/hakobastards/photos/26024313#{%22ImageId%22%3A26024313}) Ha - Ko Bastards is/was a DIY hc/punk record label from Belgrade, Serbia and they released 3 Vaseline Children CD`s together with bunch of other Balkan DIY hc/punk labels. One of those CD`s was also the infamous 3 way split CD with Mladina  Kina and Home Sick Home. This photo was taken on 29.-th December 2007. in backstage of Mochwara club in Zagreb when all 3 bands played since this was promotional show for the mentioned split CD. All 3 bands also played two weeks before this date in Belgrade, Serbia with Path Of Decay and Let`s Grow, both from Belgrade, Serbia. I`m not sure if the photo was taken before or after the show, but anyway, you can see that we had some good time and the show itself was pretty good. On the photo you can see: the upper row from left to right: Mičo (MK), Kupa (MK) and Tada (MK). Middle row from left to right: Klemen (MK), Žbla (xVCx), Igor (HSH), Cane (xVCx), Kiki (xVCx), Gajo (xVCx) and Vojin (HSH). And down below from left to right: Bole (HSH) and Sićke (HSH).

OK, while I`m lazy as fuck and while I post another worthwille xVCx post, here are few cool photos.

This cool photo came into Vaseline Children headqatters just few days ago. My sister Mirna (ex Evazija band/Ubij Me! zine) sent me the photo. On this photo  you can see xTisax from Trbonje, Slovenia, representing the spirit of Vaseline Children positive hardcore, haha!

Vaseline Children playing in Koma F club (Kopi squat), Berlin, Germany on 24th August 2007. Actually I came across this photo on Kopi website (http://koepi137.net/), on Koma F section. It`s preatty cool that for the opening page for Koma F, they putted xVCx photo. xVCx played two gigs in Koma F and both were a blast. Also, Žbla and me played in Koma F last year with Junk Messiah. There was/is always good atmosphere and nice people in Koma F.

This photo was taken in front of Koma F on the same date as the photo above. I came across this photo on Aggroanuts myspace (www.myspace.com/aggronauts),  punk rock band from Berlin, who were also playing with xVCx and Mladina Kina on this date. On this photo you can see: Aggronauts, Mladina Kina, Vaseline Children, few people/friends from Berlin and our friend Masha from Zagreb/Amsterdam.

THE STORY OF xVCx + MK FRIENDSHIP part 2

We did lots of hand maded posters for this gig, here is just one of them...    

Where were we? After the Krško show, Mladina Kina guys, my sister Mirna and we (VC boys) headed to Dravograd in two cars and we crushed at Tada`s place. In the morning of 18th August of 2007. we first hanged out at Tada`s place for a while (from which is that infamous VC band photo (look at the first post on this blog)) and then spend whole afternoon in legendary Kino place jamming on instruments and hanging out. Kino was great DIY place that MK guys lost in February of 2008. because of the asshole narrow minded people who runs Dravograd. It was old cinema that MK guys (and some other folks) turned into a skate ramp, practice and gig place plus they just started working on infoshop but this project was never finished because at the time, they unfortunately lost Kino. We spent lots of great times in Kino (especially me) during its existence. But I will probably tell you more about Kino and legendary Kino gigs some other time. The gig itself was so fucking great!!! There were about 40/50 souls on this gig which was quite enough for small gig place in Kino and atmosphere was great from finish to start. First band that played that night was local punk rock band called Pogrešana Kvaliteta and they played solid set while people were warming up slowly with usual dancing moves and circle pits. Next were Mladina Kina and they tore the place apart just like they did a night before! It was intense set and one of their best performances ever! And the last were we, Vaseline boys. Unlike the previous night when we were preatty sloppy, on this show we ripped and set Kino and the crowd on fire! :) The great atmosphere reached its peak untill the end of our set and we all  remember this whole gig as one of the best gigs we ever played/saw. After the show, we all hanged out in huge Kino hall, laughing, eating and chilling. It was one more perfect end of a perfect day...

OK, this photo is priceless!!! While Kiki and Žbla are caught up in their states of hardcore nirvana,  Gajo is spinning his drum stix (really!?!)  and Cane is showing his squid tounge (one of rare photo proofs that Cane is actually a giant squid) while walking a strange robotic walk (which is also one of rare photo proofs that Cane was also some sort of android (squid)). And the guy on the big picture behind Gajo is Ivan Cankar, a famous Slovenian writter and a poet in case you were wondering... And check out some cool gig posters in the back!

THE STORY OF xVCx + MK FRIENDSHIP part 1

OK, I haven`t posted nothing in a while execpt those xVCx videos so I guess it`s time for some cool Vaseline Children stories! I will tell you a story about our friendhip with Mladina Kina, guys from Dravograd, a small town in Slovenia. Lots of bands being punk or not punk have or had at some point a "brother" or a "sister" band. Well, Vaseline Children brother band was Mladina Kina and vice versa. There are lots of stories about the greatest times that xVCx spent with Mladina Kina and all of us from xVCx will carry these memories in our hearts untill the day we die. So I cannot put all of these great memories in just one post but I will put xVCx + MK posts once in a while so stay tuned! For the begining of xVCx + MK posting saga, lets start with Vaseline Children & Mladina Kina two weeks tour in August 2007. that was called "Never Gonna Shut Up Tour".

xVCx & MK tour started on 17th August 2007. and our first gig as in "MC" Krško, Slovenia. At that time (2006. - 2008.) "MC" Krško was one of best places for hc/punk gigs not just in Sovenia but even further. For me, with all my bands, it was always great to play in Krško because of the enthusiastic positively dancing crowd, good atmosphere, good food and cool hanging out with the Krško crowd and all the other folks that were on the gigs. So, this gig was no exception. But let me rewind a bit. I remember that day preatty good because it was friday and I was working as hell at that hot summer day. After the fucking work I had to get to home throught the whole city but finnaly I knew that the touring will begin in just few hours... We all met at my place and Tada came to pick us up with the car (we still didn`t need the van at that point) and off we went to Krško! The rest of the MK guys came  to Krško directly from Dravograd with another car. Even though we were complete mess on the stage (kind of sloppy and kind of bad sound) I remember this show as one of our best, the crowd was so wild and positive, dancing, circle piting, stage diving  the whole time and singing along to our songs, what more could you want from a hc/punk show!?! And then Mladina Kina came on the stage! They ripped that night!!! This was definitely one of best MK shows that I ever saw! They were much more tight than us and it was just their night! The positive dancing atmosphere continued through whole MK set and after the show we were all so fucking wet, smiling and just fulfilled with positive energy! After the show some cool girls and boys from Berlin did an interview with some of us with a video camera, that was also a cool conversation and cool ending of a really great show and that whole night.
